Moderately Important Fables is a refreshed take on the classic fable form. With stories like “The Penguin Who Was Kind of a Prick”, and “The Dust Mite Who Regretted Getting a Tattoo”, author Ryan Shattuck is bringing meaningful morals to an age that might not pay attention to jays and peacocks.
Okay. You drew me in with your promises of tales of animals in compromising situations. Where will I be able to buy this book?
Hurray! Moderately Important Fables isn’t coming out until August, but I’m raising money on Kickstarter to publish the book. Simply visit Moderately Important Fables on Kickstarter, and feel free to donate a few dollars. Anyone who donates at least $25 will receive a free copy of the book.
Sample Chapter: "The Turtle Who Needed to Refill His Anti-Depressants Medication"
(Today is the the midpoint of my Kickstarter campaign for “Moderately Important Fables.” Only 15 days remain! So to celebrate this milestone (it’s not really a milestone when you think about it (or is it? (did you know that if you use too many parenthesis, you’ll go blind?))), I’ve decided to publish another sample chapter, entitled “The Turtle Who Needed to Refill His Anti-Depressants Medication.” Enjoy.)
9 Compliments & 1 Request for 'Moderately Important Fables'
I believe Moderately Important Fables is a project worth supporting on Kickstarter. But as the late LeVar Burton used to say on Reading Rainbow before his untimely death, “You don’t have to take my word for it!”
The following are some of the compliments I’ve received for Moderately Important Fables.
Sample Chapter: "The Penguin Who Was Kind of a Prick"
(Yesterday, I passed the $1,000 mark on my Kickstarter project. To show my gratitude to all of my backers so far, I’d like to share a sample chapter from Moderately Important Fables, entitled “The Penguin Who Was Kind of a Prick”)
Kickstarter Campaign Passes $1K Mark; My Head Explodes
Holy crap. Moderately Important Fables passed $1,000 on Kickstarter yesterday, in only 4 days. I’m so shocked, that my head just spun all the way around like in ‘The Exorcist,’ and now I have to go to the chiropractor.
To show my severe gratitude for your support, I’m going to post a chapter from the book sometime later today or tomorrow.
Oh goodness gracious. Kickstarter has chosen Moderately Important Fables as one of their Staff Picks, and even featured my book on their official blog. That’s so flattering, I think I may cry. Which is rather awkward timing, since I’m dancing to the song “Tequila” in a biker bar at the moment.
Hi, I’m Ryan Shattuck. You may remember me from such websites as Facebook or Google. I’m here to tell you about my brand new book: “Moderately Important Fables.” It’s full of fables that aren’t too important, but just important enough.
"Moderately Important Fables" won’t come out until August, but you can support it today on Kickstarter! From now until June 4th, I will be raising funds for the book. Thank you everyone, for reading this. Please drive home safely.
